Lieutenant Uhura opened the door to the observation lounge, slowly entering the room. Her left hand held a cup and saucer, the contents thankfully still steaming, despite how long she'd been searching the ship, her right hand closed and locked the door, mainly for privacy purposes. She walked into the room, looking around before her eyes settled on her target, quickly, but quietly striding over to him.

ST - Christmas Company It was Christmas Eve, and Jim Kirk was depressed.  He was holed up in his quarters on board the USS Enterprise, lounging on his bed, his lights set on a low setting.  He was still dressed in his command gold, just getting off of Alpha shift for the night.  Part of him regretted not going directly to sick bay to steal some of Bones' hidden stash of wonderful and questionable alcoholic items, but Jim really didn't want any company at the moment.  Instead he was content to suffer his loneliness in silence, the concept at which he had already bitterly laughed at himself for, picturing, in his mind, what Spock would say to that.  Something along tST - Christmas Company by ~twinklestarr-chan

In the quiet hours of the ship's night Kirk and Spock philosophised about the concept of Nome.

The stars.

Knowledge.

Romluan Ale.  Giggling.

The gentle wind, that is carried from the L-langon mountains over the lowlands, announcing the dawn.

Corn fields, meadows.

The warm shine of your sun.

The opportunity to solve yet unknown scientific puzzles.

'Good God man, I can't believe that ya missed us!'

A shiver ran down my spine as a forced myself to open the door to my truck. It was butt ass cold outside, and I couldn't believe that Iowa wasn't warmer than this! It SHOULD have been at least 80 degrees, but apparently the news reporter meant after the layer of dark clouds goes away.

I was pleased to find out that my friends had taken a fond liking to me. I wasn't expecting to have so many friends from just one day, but hey, I am a likable person. Our lunch table was always crowded, with people having to stand around it, or sitting on the table right next to it. I always had a Afterglow - 2 by ~Luigiluva11

Spirk: Wedding Jitters part 11 Kirk took the lift back up the the bridge, feeling more miserable than he had before. On the lift he resolved to fix things with Spock, no matter what it took. He couldn't go on like this, going between a lover who was driving him mad and a best friend who was going mad. It wasn't healthy.

The doors opened and Kirk marched over to Spock, looking as resolute as possible despite the pounding of his heart. "Spock, I need to talk to you."

"You will have to wait until later." Spock said, standing from his desk and turning off his computer. "I am having dinner with my friend Marlaena tonight, and I am never late when it truly matters."

Spirk: Wedding Jitters part 10 Several hours passed in strained silence until, nearing the end of their shift, Kirk got up and walked over to Sulu's station.

"I was wondering, Mr. Sulu, if maybe after our shift you'd like to go down to one of the training rooms and spar with me for a bit. It's been a while since I've fenced but I'd like to see how I measure up against an award-winning swordsman such as yourself." Kirk asked. In truth he was just looking for a way to work off some of the pent up frustration he was feeling but it was as good an excuse as any.

"Is this a peace offering?" Sulu asked with a chuckle, standing up. "Sure, why not?"

Spirk: Wedding Jitters part 9 He must have been sitting on the floor for a while, because there was a sudden buzzing from the intercom directly over his head. "Captain?" it was Uhura's soft voice, trying to keep from panicking. "Captain, are you alright? Is… is Leonard alright?"

Kirk opened his mouth several times to answer but found he couldn't force the words out. How could he tell her Bones was gone? He certainly couldn't lie to her but breaking the news over the communicator seemed rather cruel and insensitive.

:bulletorange: Using screenshots: Do not submit derivative works to the Featured gallery! We prefer to feature only original art. Submit photomanipulations wallpapers and icons that use screenshots, as well as demotivationals and captions, directly to the appropriate category.

:bulletorange: Any deviations which use screenshots must show originality. Captions/demotivationals should use quality images and text should be creative. Wallpapers, icons, and photomanipulations should show effort - Don't add text to a screenshot and call it a wallpaper without doing something else to the screenshot first. We also prefer it if you do more than take a screenshot of Kirk and Spock, scoot them two inches closer and call it a photomanip.
